Running 100% meth will indeed raise the octane and allow more timing, but your motor is living on the edge.
Of course it takes tuning to take full advantage of running any mix, but people don't always tune for it right away and they still see gains. Water has better cooling properties then Methanol, but I am mostly after the increase in octane. EGT's are fine. Why do you say my motor is living on the edge? I have zero knock (datalogged) and my EGT's are safe... So why would that be on the edge? Stock shortblock can handle over 400 whp easy. It's all in the tuning brother I have done pretty well for myself so far I have learn a lot over the past couple of years. Tuning the computer isn't as hard as all these tuners make it out to be if you have the knowledge already. It's just figuring out what all the damn tables do and how much they effect everything The tables in my software aren't labeled as well with proper descriptions like the Ford SCT software...

By 'on the edge' I mean that the harder you run the motor the less room for error.

Clog a line or ?? and BOOM! Rare but read some of the alcohol injection forums. Stuff happens.

I know you, of all people that might run this combination, have the know how to safely use this very effective means of gaining significant horsepower gains but it's not for everyone.

The Methanol is not used for it's cooling properties, but purely as an octane booster.

When water turns to steam it absorbs a huge amount of energy in the form of heat. A property lacking in alcohol.

The mixture will cool the intake charge as well, but it is the energy absorption in the combustion chamber that helps prevent detonation. It's a bit more complicated that all this.

What is your A/F ratio at wot?

Are you still using the EEC-Tuner?

I am using an SCT Pro Racer package to tune with. I have a AEM wideband mounted in the car and I have a datalogger on my laptop for when I am tuning. I can monitor everything I would notice a clogged line because I pay attention to what's going on with my car. I am always watching the wideband. Electronic boost gauge so I have peak recall and a warn LED on it. Right now My car is really rich, AFR's are in the high 10's. I am not messing with it because I am waiting for my manifold to get here today. I had it tuned to 11.5 to 12.0 and the car just ripped!!! The new manifold is supposed to lean me out about a full point. So We'll see how well this really helps me out. I can't wait to put it on this weekend. The see what I can do with some real tuning. I had the car tuned really well, the I had three turbos blow on me in a row, everyone acted different. This one has lasted a couple weeks LOL, we'll see what happens.

Sounds like a bad run of luck with turbos. Did you figure out why each one failed? Were they oil-starved?

My manifold didn't show up. I am so pissed. I called the dude up and he said he shipped it next day air USPS... But it never showed... Oh well. Well the first two turbos weren't my fault, the third turbo was. The first turbo the compressor nut fell off, the second one was not properly balanced from the get go, and the third one I blew up because I was low on oil... Ya, that sucked. I was hella mad. I had to pay for that one. The first two were covered under warranty. Oh well, live and learn. The same time that the turbo blew up, I had to spring for a new laptop also... It took a crap on me... I just had a run of bad luck. Hopefully things are on the up and up from here on out. I still want my manifold though!! I was so looking forward to getting that on tomorrow.
