Hey I own a 2002 Mustang and I was wondering what I would be better off with: a chip or a tuner? What i'm looking for is something to boost my horsepower and torque a little and raise the speed limiter a little bit. Those are the main things i'm looking for. Does anybody have any suggestions?

A tuner is much more versatile. SCT and Diablosport both make good handhelds.

so which one would u go with Diablosport or SCT? I've heard and read things about both and in my opinion they both sound pretty good

I have the Diablo, have had it for 2 years, and it works fine.

HOWEVER, if I were to go looking for one today, I'd pick the SCT. I think they have an advantage in the Dyno market, and they are just a little more in tune with our particular cars than Diablo. Their customer service is more responsive too (Diablo has a tendency to "lose" emails, I notice).

I have the Diablo and like it very much, see what the tuners in your area use and base your decision on that.

I always used Diablo, but SCT probably is preferred by most tuners now days....at least where I live.

Best advice I can give...and I learned this the hard way. You might only need a canned performance tune that comes with the SCT or Diablo tuner at this point, but if you plan on modding the car anymore you'll eventually need a custom dyno tune because the canned tune won't be any good. Call around to the tuners in your area and ask them what software they use...SCT or Diablo. Whatever they use is the tuner you should go with otherwise if you ever need a custom tune your screwed.

I would go with an sct I hear the user interface is better, they came out with the x3 which looks pretty fun, with some nice data logging capabilities... I would get one from like brenspeed or bamachips you can tell them your mods and they will give you a gerenic tune for your mods which would be better than the normal tune on them... you might have to pay a lil extra for them to give you a generic tune for your mods but its a lot cheaper than dyno time...
