Default 4.6L DOHC Performance Upgrades

i'm looking into purchasing a '93 Lincoln Mark VIII with a 4.6L DOHC i know the SVT Cobra's have the same engine with a better intake setup what i was wondering was is there somewhere that sell's these parts or better upgrades for these engines?

These are not identical engines to the Cobras. The heads are different, and the shape of the ports are different. These heads (pre-99 split port heads) will not hit the horsepower that the later tumble port heads can make.

Here is a site with some information:

Ford modular SOHC & DOHC tech & specifications

Note the schematic for determining the shape ports present.

Note also the importance of retaining the crossover hose on aluminum blocks.

Thre are some differences with the engine dress and accessories and their attachment also.

build up a 2v which will make as much power as syoull need for lot less cash.

4v out of that lincoln will be a good base to start on but the its not the same as a cobra motor

diff heads
dif cams
dif internals (not forged)
diff intake

You can build it up but s i said you can build a really hot 2v.

There Is So much more to gotten for two valve build ups.

The only perk of the mark vii engine is the Teksid Block (Fords Strongest Modular Block except the 99-01 teksid revision not the WEP) which you can do anything that money allows custom wise.

A two valve setup is much more economical. I seen A web site out there for 4 valve head porting with the option of B or C heads corrected me if Im wrong other users but the C heads are the better ones correct. Well anyway they a little over 1k and they had a Cobra Crank for 900 I wanna say.

But for that Kind Of cash I would look into a Super Charged Application your already eating mustangs with that motor anyway go eat some Cobras with a Vortech supercharger. And give some LT1s a run for there money With A 400+ Lincoln Thats just KOOL:nogrinner I love Sleepers
