Hey do any of you have Corbeau racing seats? I was thinking about buying 1 but I was wondering how they compare to Sparco?
Here is the seat I am considering. CORBEAU USA LLC - CR1 Seat - $349
Chrome Yellow 1998 Mustang GT, K&N intake, 3.73 gears, PI intake, t-3650 trans, Mcleod super street pro clutch, Hurst billitt shifter, Bilstein shocks/struts.
(Loaded PI heads sitting in my garage for when I have free time )
(forged short-block in progress)
Those are nice but if I was going to pay that I would buy the Recaro's that I like.

I have a set of Corbeaus in my Cobra. I like them. They are mostly camel color to match the interior, which to me is nicer than the reds and yellows and stuff you usually see. The seats are tight but they will flex to let you body fit in them. The best part is that They let me maintain the power operation. Don't remember how much they cost though.
Corbeau is a good value for the money, particularly if you are not horizontally challenged as I am. Note that many of the seat manufacturers offer their products in different widths...
Best case would be to find a car with the seats so you can plant yourself and see how they fit.
Unfortunately, its a lot like buying shoes via the internet, but the return shipping is a real hassle (and beware restocking fees).

Exactly that is what bothers me. The main problem I have with the stock seems is that they will not tilt far enough forward and I assume they do that for head clearance but it puts my back in a very uncomfortable position. If it would tilt forward probably just a 1/2" or so more it would work. Plus I like the look of the racing seats. Next mustang rally we have I am going to and see if I can test out some seats.

The power seats from a 99-04 GT or Cobra would probably solve your problem, and can be swapped in with a minimum of work. This was one issue that the new power seats addressed, being able to raise and lower the front of the seat separately.

Mine is power and I can raise and lower the front of my seat separately as well. Maybe not in the same way or possibly not all the 98's had this. It is still uncomfortable for me though. They feel real nice for the first 15 minutes or so then my back muscles start aching. I like the 05+ seats I wonder if I could make those work. I don't mine drilling or grinding on the tracks if it is possible.

I have Corbeau F1X Pro's and I love them but then again I open track the car so I need the added side bolstering! What environment will the car be driven in?
