Default 1998 fog light wiring/switch Help

hey my friend has a 98 gt and he just got cobra fogs for his cobra bumper that was on the car when he got it. the old owner has done many stupid things and this is one of them....underneath the fog light switch there is nothing, and under the radio is all the wires which are cut, and I assume went to the fog light switch. We went to ford and they couldnt sell just that part which we need. So I need to know how we can wire these...directly to the battery and just get a generic switch?, wire them into the parking lights so they turn on with them?....also how would we go about doing that...and other options spit em out, thanks a lot guys

you can wire them up the parking lights, but that might over load the fuse.

what would i do?
1) go to the junk yard and get a harness, and cut off the wires you need, splice them in, and make sure there is a fuse where its supposed to go.
--or--
2) wire them up in parallel circuits (aka individually) directly to the battery, with an inline fuse. then just get a generic switch from auto zone to control them and run that into the car thru the firewall, or find a way to use the stock switch for a stock look.

is the radio still plugged in? there are 2 seperate extensions of the main harness, one goes to the radio/amps and the other goes to the fog light/convertable top switch. make sure you splice them into the fog light part of the harness because you wont be able to run it off the 'vert top harness.

My brother had this issue with his '01 Tundra (or something along the lines of this issue).

He wanted fogs and had openings for them in his bumper so he bought a set of OEM foglights for a '01 Tundra and a generic fog light wiring kit from Pep Boys. The wiring kit comes with a fuse and relay and plenty of wire to run to wherever you need as well as crimps and connectors, etc. We wired it all up and it works perfectly.

He used the switch that came with the wiring kit but you'll probably want to use the stock one for yours. Google basic switches and you should be able to figure out how to hook it up. Either that or hit me up with a pic of the bottom of the switch and i'll see what I can do.
