Default Will I need caster and camber plates If I plan to lowere the mustang?

I want to use the ford racing springs since they only drop it 1.2'', they are the cheapest, and they're ford. I'm anticipating the alignment, but will I be needing any caster and chamber plates or bump steer upgrades?

Default Lower

With that mild drop, no. Up to 3/4" (the next FRPP spring level) also, no.

At about 1.5", that changes to a yes, and is a "usually" between 1 and 1.5".

After 1.2" Bumpsteer kit is a good idea, too.

One thing about it, the amount of adjustment with the OE setup is pretty wimpy, and you will get a much better spec. from C/C plates. If the car has EVER been hit hard in a wreck, the plates will be help with alignment issues. Handling on road tracks REQUIRE c/c plates for best results.

You probably DO NOT need them with just the 1/2" drop Ford springs.

It wasn't a half in drop, it's a 1.2 in drop. So a no on the plates. A yes on the bump steer. Thanks tripleblack

Whoever does your alignment, TALK to them. If your particular car is hard to align (or has to be left out-of-spec) consider the C/C plates.

If you run real wide tires on the front, this will affect things too.

In the front I'm running the stock 8's with 245/45/17's. I was planning on doing the springs myself and then taking it to get the alignment checked out after.

You should be OK then. Make some marks on the plates and strut towers (2 lines drawn with a chalk or marker so you can get it back to the original setup) and you will be close.

Glad to do it. Oh, and I meant "2 lines drawn on the plates and strut towers" on BOTH sides. Its like a clock, and you can then align them pretty close. Draw a circle around the outside of the round plates, too, while you are at it
