Removing air silencer on a 02 GT

Ok i put on my FIPK kit yesterday. When i took off my stock air box and filter did i automatily remove the silencer was this just connected to the stock air box? Or do i need to disconnect something in the fender wall or something? i am asumming by me putting on the K&N FIPK intake kit that it was removed when i took of the stock air tubing. Is this correct? Or do i need to disconnect something else where is it located or what does it look like anyway?

The air silencer is the piece of tubing that goes from the air box to the fender wall. I haven't used the FIPK but I would assume you removed it.
