Default 1998 Mustang GT AC Not Blowing Cold Air

The AC on my 1998 Mustang GT is not blowing cold air and has not been for some time. I took it into the Ford dealer and was told that the Constant Control Relay Module needed to be replaced and it would cost $550. The tech there said that the coolant level and high/low line pressures were normal. Does anyone know how the CCRM would affect the AC? I am thinking that I could replace the unit myself for a lot less than $550, but I am not even sure that the CCRM is the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jerry

the CCRM is a 4 function relay: it controls the EEC, a/c clutch, coolant fan and fuel pump...wholesale price on one is @$130.00 and it's easy to install but Im not sure thats your problem...

If the CCRM is bad then the compressor will not engage,is this what yours is doing?
If so use a test light and see if u have voltage on blk/Y wire at the compressor clutch. If not then just take a jumper wire from battery positive and jump it to the blk/Y wire on clutch and see if it engages, if so hold it there just long enough to see if the ac starts cooling. Don't leave it there long because it will be bypassing your high pressure switch, just do it long enough to see if it starts cooling. If it does cool then just to make sure check for voltage at the DG/O wire from the high pressure switch to the CCRM,this is the voltage feed to the CCRM to engage the clutch relay inside the CCRM. If this is good then CCRM is most likely the problem.
