99+ Ford racing tach install

I am looking to install a Ford racing tach w/ shift light in a 99 Mustang GT. I have the tach/shift light, I have the FRPP tach driver. Is there anything else that I am going to need?

Hey what kinda mods do you have to be putting down those numbers? Those are some really nice numbers. Do you have a dyno sheet? PM me if ya want.

Well, the dyno sheet will read 260 rwhp and 299.9 rwtq. That dyno was performed before chip was installed. Those numbers are estimated based on losses and the rough gains that superchip reported. I will have an up to date dyno sheet the end of this month. if you want to see what mods I have, here is my website

Nice ride. Hey did you have a custom superchip programed? Or did you get their standard program?

Thanks for the compliment.

It was the basic program for my ecu. When I go at the end of march my duno shop is going to see if he can tweak a few settings to optimize the air/fuel curves and accomodate the gear change.

Don't count on that chip adding 17rwhp & 23lb/tq. I should know. I got one dyno tuned and all i got was 4rwhp & 10lb/tq. People with the same mods as you aren't putting down that much HP. You should also be trapping higher than 99MPH if you're putting down that much. I won't call BS, but the math just doesn't add up.

Well, you could very well be right. Like I said, I will see at the end of March how things look. One thing to keep in mind is that even though you were seeing the numbers you stated, each car is different and reacts differently depending on the mods you have.

However, I did not start this link to dispute what I have for Hp and all, and what I am running for times. I know my times are slower then I want and the majority of that is purely driver error. I will take the blame for that one. I started this thread about a tach install. Does anyone have any warnings or pointers?
