I think the bank 1 cam timing is off and #5 has a problem with the rings or valve seals. It possible it could all be issues with the valve seals, but you need to recheck the compression on all 8 cylinders at WOT and see if that changes anything.

I didn't even catch that 30psi difference between banks. I was too zoned in on the 2 lowest cylinders.

Ok, I checked it again at WOT and it was the same results. So i dont know why your supposed to do it..... But anyway, am getting really pissed off with this. I dont know what to do. I do have one question about lash adjusters. Are they supposed to have any travlel in the plunger, or compress at all when you take them out? I had one that compressed a little while all the others i checked didnt compress at all.

You check it at WOT to ensure that you fill the cylinders completely and evenly. I'm not certain about the adjusters, I believe they are supposed to compress a little, but don't quote me on that. I think you have the cam timing off, its pretty common, but the one cylinder on the other bank indicates there may be another problem.

Yes, lash adjusters do compress. That's their whole purpose in life. They use oil pressure to provide resistance against compressing while still compressing enough to allow the rocker to operate the valve. If they do not provide enough pressure to keep the rocker firmly against the cam journal, you throw the rocker and then stuff really goes haywire.
