Default 2002 GT LTs or shorty headers

I've been reading alot of the threads on this site and most recommend long tube headers. Are they a better investment than shorties or is it just a presonal preference?

Default long tube

Long tube headers for sure. more torque more ponies. add a pro chamber or h pipe or x pipe and really feel a differance. (con) starter replace at the same time very hard to get to once in there with the lt headers.

Thanks for the help. I knew about the rest of the exhaust I'm putting a supercharger on the car and a 3" o/r X and exhaust all the way back.

Long tubes without a doubt, shorties aren't much better than stock if at all, not worth the money or hassle. Long tubes are a major pita to install, but they are well worth it, and give great sound as well. If you don't want to do lt's just get a mid pipe and catback, it'll be almost no different than if you do shorties.

All I have on it currently is a K&N mass air and cat back exhaust done by the previous owner. When I get back to the states in the spring there is a supercharger, headers, and full 3" exhaust going on it. Then later on down the line when I have a secondary car I'm gonna build the bottom end and get my heads done.

Your stock exhaust manifolds will do just fine compared to shorties. If your gonna go through the PITA install of headers then LT's are the way to go
