the same thing happened to me, only its on my 93 5.0 i replaced the lifters and made sure everything went back together like it cam off, such rocker in the same place and so on, and now all i get is tapping noise, its possible that somthing may have come loose i would recheck everything rockerwise

Hiya, welcome to the site. You'll get help with that in the 4.6 tech area.

You have a sohc, no lifters. Could be a problem with the lash adjusters, and a common problem is getting the right bank cam off by a tooth, this could cause the noise. What weight oil are you running? It could also be an exhaust leak at the head, you can try to retorque the exhaust, just don't overdo it, but it sounds to me like the cam timing. Were the heads redone or just swapped over from one engine to the other?
