Default Who says you cant have 18 inch rims??

An earlier post suggested that you cannot put 18 inch wheels on a car that has the Ford Lowering springs. I say that the 18 inch wheels are fine with a car that uses the typical 1 1/2 inch lowering springs. The front tires 245/40/18 are acttually the exact same height as the stock 245/45/17 and even slightly more narrow. The 275/35 rear is a tad bit shorter (1/10 of an inch than the stock 245/45 and only an inch or so wider which will offer no rubbing concerns whatsoever. I assume other guys are using 18's too with the typical lowering springs (I would say "dropped" is too strong of a word for what these springs do). Anyoneelse using 18 inch wheels tis way>?

Just did a bunch of work on a friends stang. He has 18 x 9 in front and 18x 10 in rear. we lowered his car over an 1 1/2 inch. No problems. He has 245/40/18 in front and 275/35/18 in rear. He wants 305's in rear soon!!

perfect thanks! I am going to do the 275/35 out back since my rims are only 9 inch. I am going to install 18 inch versions of the bullits - I hope they make a nic look. I have the stock 17" inch bullits now but I think going to 18 and with the staggered tire look it should be nice.
I just HOPE it does not look exactly like it does withthe 17's! : - (
I dont think so and I didnt want to go to chrome with it cuz I drive it for business too.
