Default Swapping from Auto to Man. Trans

Ok what do you all think about this? Right now I have a 02 GT with an auto tranny, and this slushbox of a tranny is now acting up with just over 6000 thousand miles on it. It is at the dealer being looked at now because it seems to be slipping when shifting and will pop itself from park into reverse.(has happened 5 times in approx a 1.5months) Well anyways I was wondering if you all think I should get my auto tranny beefed up after it gets fixed, so it will last? If so what should I have done and what place might be able to do it. Or do you think I would be better off swapping out my auto for a manual trans conversion? And if someone can find out a link or site that offers info that'd be great. Or the last thing I was thinking is to sell my baby and just go out and buy another with a 5speed already in it? For me I would like to keep my current car cause of all the modifications that have already been done, It's all up in the air right now but I was just wondering what you all think.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Adam
