Default brake question 97 GT

hey all
my brakes need to be serviced and i don't have enough in the bank. how hard of a job is it to do? what tools are needed? sorry for this noob question but im off at college and i would rather do it myself and learn haha.

thanks for any advice

Unless you know what you are doing or know someone who does I would not recomend messing with brakes they are too important. If you mess up it will cost way more.

Define service.

Like pads and rotors? As long as you've got a minimal level of mechanical aptitude and a few hand tools, you can do it.

A basic ratchet/socket set, a breaker bar, and a caliper piston tool (or a large C-Clamp) are all you need. You don't even need to bleed the brakes.

I did the Cobra brake swap solo and I'm no super mechanic. If you are patient and can follow directions, its easy.

+1 with quick4.6 It's really easy to do. Once you do it the first time, you'll see how easy it is. Also buy a hanyes or chilton manual for reference.
