Default Good Steet Tires for 4.10's?

Sup guys, I just got my 4.10s installed, and today I kind of took off, not hard but in a way. My tires just spun no traction. I have the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW's.

I was thinking about getting the Nitto NT555's. I have 2 17x9 Polished Cobra rims, so I put my 4 Bullitts with tires up on Craigslist for $650. So with the money and then some, I was going to buy 2 more 17x9 or 17x10.5 Polished Cobras, and then the Nitto NT555 street tires. I saw that thier rated 9.8 Dry Taction, 9.5 Wet Traction, 9.6 Cornering and Steering Response, and like a 8.5 Treadwear.

Is anyone running these? And do you guys think those are good tires for 4.10's? Thanks guys

I run them and love em. I still don't see much traction with the blower/4.10 combo on the street without heating them up, but I wouldn't go with any other tire. I also DD my car and the tread wear isn't that bad as long as you don't do burnouts all the time

Eagle GS D3's. You need to do some upper and lower control arms to help keep everything in proper alignment with those new gears.

Exclamation Tires for accelerating in street, real life conditions

I've gone through 2 sets of BF Goodrich KDW tires... I can assure you that there won't be a third time.

I've experienced BFGs to be mediocre tires for everyday driving, especially off the line and in turns (the back breaks loose). No matter the rear end gear ratio, I was all over the road... I had experienced just as much oversteer in a 911. And if I would hit a pudle or do anything fancy, I would end up facing the other way.

I like testing tires. I can confidently say that for street (wet & dry conditions) BFGs simply don't make the cut... BFGs need a smooth and dry track to perform -and that's not real life.

I later tried a set of General Exclaim UHP 265-35-18 fronts and 295-35-18 rears to test in day to day all season driving conditions and I was simply shocked: they outperformed the BFGs in normal street driving conditions for half the price! ...but I wanted to know why... the answer lied in the rubber compound and in the tread pattern...

1) UHPs compound is harder: that's why it performs much better than BFG in wet conditions or if you hit a puddle. Furthermore, UHP has a tread life rating of 380 which means they will last much longer than BFGs.

2) UHPs tread pattern is much more effective in "grabbing" the road when you accelerate. It allows the tire to "dig deep" by clawing though debris, pebbles, loose gravel, etc.. like a shovel, while the BFGs feel like they "float" over and break loose as if they were on marbles. Compare the tread patterns on both tires and you'll understand why UHP outperforms BFG KDW in accelleration in street driving.

Those were the experiences I had. They may vary from car to car, driver to driver, etc. Also keep in mind that 4.10 is a very steep ratio and with it you can easily peel tires... but to give you an idea, the UHP does NOT break loose on a 99 gt automatic with stock 3.27 ratios, while the KDWs did, off the line at WOT.
