Angry Serious Help Need. Anti Theft Light

I searched this matter and noone seems to have had the same problem. My car cranks but will not start. I was driving down the road and the car just died. The "THEFT" comes for 1 second and blinks rapedly there after. The car cranks but will turn over in any way. I saw where someone said to check the fuel shut off switch since this seems to be the problem, "lack of gas" but the shut off was not engaged. I have the car on a trailor and am headed to the dealership tomorrow but am not sure I can afford what its going to cost me. Can anyone please help I am in dire emergency. Thanks for any help.

Check and see if the ignition is firing, but if the theft light is staying on its probably a pats system problem, it may need to be reset. Have you gotten a replacement key recently?

No, I have done nothing to the car since I bought it. I forgot to mention that I did check all the fuses under the hood. and in the car.

Try using a spare key that you have for the car that is known to work. The key you have could be cracked or damaged and the chip inside no longer communicates to the PATS system.

If the car will run with the spare key, the old key needs to be replaced with a new PATS type key and programmed to your vehicle.

Well so I though the problem was over. It has just started. The dealership just ripped me off the money because it was a friend of a friend who worked on and basically put a band aid on my car and sent me down the road. Car lasted four days and problem reoccurred. I think I have got the problem down to the plug that plugs into the ccrm. Does anyone know where I can find a picture of the CCRM opened up. I have been on my back and under the hood all day today and cannot find this. I would go into more detail of why I think it is this but am completly drained and wanted some help on this picture. More information to come and thanks for anyone who can help.

Strangly the problem went away when I changed the IAC out. Now everyone I have spoken to said that this should not beable to cause the 20amp fuse that was blowing although the IAC is wired into the same fuse that was blowing. It has been 3 weeks same fuse. So if anyone else has this problem not saying its the IAC but it could be like it was for me. Thanks for the help

Problem has came back in less then two months. Could the IAC be bad again or is there some other sensor on the car that can cause this problem, or cause the IAC to read incorrectly and cause it to go out? I changed the EGR solenoid at the same time as the IAC last time. All problem were resolved until last week. It caused it to blow the fuse again last week and now rpms are hanging again. and idling at around 1500. Is it time to throw the car away or any know what needs to be done?

thanks,

it is impossible to diagnose an electrical problem over the internet,it is true that most suffer from the same, but not always that is true.

Sorry, I have not responded to this topic. Work has been hectic now that I am working nights. I changed the IAC once again and boom, problem has gone away. Hopefully it was a faulty one from the part store. I guess I will have to wait and see
