I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I wasn't able to find anything about this...now to the question.
I have a modified stock H-pipe with 2 cats on my 00' Mustang GT that my buddy is willing to trade me for his Bassani X pipe. The only thing though, his car is a 98 Mustang GT.
What is the difference between the two? As far as fitment wise? Will these 2 mid-pipes be able to bolt on if we do the swap? I've tried looking on-line with no luck. The only thing I notice was that X/H pipes were specifically for 96-98, or 99-04.
I know I can swap out the exhaust manifold if need be but I'm trying to avoid that as for I know how much a PITA it could be.
Vehicle descriptions:
1998 Mustang GT (automatic) - Bassani X pipe
2000 Mustang GT (actually, complete 2001 engine including exhaust manifolds, 5 speed) - modified stock H pipe - 2 cats.
the length of the cars are slightly different just enough that you would have to do some outlet mods to make it work (mufflers back) but it will bolt up to the headers just come a little short on the other end

thanks for the info. My buddy swears that his Bassani X came from a 99-04 model and he had a muffler shop widen the flange to fit the manifold. Or so, that's what they told him. I think he might be a little confused as for he has little to no knowledge on cars.
