Default Shifter help/ suggestions ?

I've been looking for a while to get a shifter but winter came before I had the chance. Now that the snow is gone I'm back in the hunt. Originally I was thinking a Steeda Tri ax, pro 5.0, hurst or one of those bigger names. But now I've found some no names (seem to be smaller independent companies) offering the same product for a third of the costs <80$$ on ebay new.

The price is very tempting but I dont want to go ahead and get one if they are just sh**. Does anyone know if these brands are at all reputable ? Or better, does it really matter who makes it ?

Below are the links for what I found: (just copy and paste)

eBay Motors: Ford 94-98 95 96 99 00 Mustang T5 Short Throw Shifter (item 230327103203 end time Mar-23-09 18:04:34 PDT)

eBay Motors: Ford Mustang 85-93 94 95 96 97 98 99 00 Short Shifter (item 110353454523 end time Mar-20-09 10:09:34 PDT)

Thanks any input would be awesome

I've owned many, many cars (over 20) and I had never installed an aftermarket shifter until this current car. I found a STEEDA on eBay, used, for about $70 shipped.

I have never tried any other brand, but from my standpoint, and the amazing difference I felt, I would recommend this shifter.

100%. Hands down, the best mod I have ever made for ease of use, and improving driveability. What a wonderful product!

Wish I could vouch for others, but I know you can't go wrong with the STEEDA shifter.

I have tried a UPR Blue Thunder (similar to a Steeda Tri Ax) and an MGW shifter on my Mach 1. The shifter that I ended up keeping installed was the MGW. There are several good shifters available, but the MGW is in a class by itself. After two years of daily driver usage it still shifts as good as it did when new, it has not even got a little play in it.

i'd love a mgw or triax but they are literally 3x's the price of these other no namers and I'm just wondering how different if at all they really would be
