I have heard claims 60 hp with just a stroker. I dont know, ask BKid, SLTwagon, or Travelers. They know mods and spec well.

it seems like a stroker kit is a great bang for your buck, does it make your engine less reliable? what exactly is it doing?

It wont make the engine unreliable, its like having a brand new motor and it gives it a longer stroke increases cubic inch also.

A stroker uses a longer stroke and/or larger pistons to increase cubic inches. Like any engine, if done right they are just as reliable and can make a ton of power. There are also longer rod combinations that leave the piston at tdc longer and can make power, but there is a lot of debate as to whether they really benefit at all. I'm a big fan of strokers, they work very well.

Strokers are awesome! the biggest thing with stroker motors is torque. You will make more torque for a given rpm. If you do a stroker kit you will notice definite big power gains throughout the powerband.
