My '99 has an on off button/switch. It is automatically on once the car is running. To shut it off you push the button, and a light comes on that displays "off."
The only thing is that most racer's get upset about is they forget to turn it off when they get to the line.
I have the same button you have Mike. It sure is embarrassing when the light turns green and your traction control kicks in before the 60' mark...you just want to crawl under a rock...lol
What year did it become available for all models. Maybe it was only in the 99 Cobras. We will have to see who else has the button in previous years.
My '00 GT has the same button on the console in front of the 5 speed, IT IS DEFINITELY EMBARASSING TO FORGET IT ON!! How about in the burn-out box, LOL!

I just don't have any luck doing burnouts with a 5 speed. I've just never had luck and no one has ever taught me how its done...so anyway with street tires I skip the water.
I skip the water if it's possible, some places the people are water hose happy and spray it so you can't miss it. I do a little one until I hear them just squeal then line it up. Really need something besides the streets though, they just don't hook. any 2.0 or 2.1 short times are great on streets guys.

I think it can be added for a small fee. I personally like it, but just because you have it doesn't mean you can rely on it. I can drive my car with out even making it come on.
You are supposed to turn it off on road courses, but I leave it on. The harder you drive, the more it comes on.
Contrary to popular belief I am able to spin the tires with it on. As soon as you start to yaw, it will engage.
I think hmarv saw me do one of my 14 1/4mile runs. The only one I lost was ofcourse because I shut down just before staging do to track repair. Restarted, and Not only that, I never new I had wheel hop, until I tried the 1320.
99 and 00 had strip down models. They could come with v6 rims, no cruise control, no traction control, no stereo, and best of all a 120mph governor. Gay. But what do you expect, you skip on the option, they jip you on the top speed.
