Default Control Arms vs. Drag Radials

What would give me the most tracticon for the money , either a pair of 245/45-17 NITTO Drags Radials or J&M Upper and Lower Control Arms and just run my street tires?

O and i cant go wider than 245 because the only spare rims i can use are 17x8 off a 95 gt. Are they still worth it given that my everyday tires are 275 Toyo Proxes?

245 is a thinner tire than 275 so probally not. if you have 275 size tires on there . than get the arms. but 17 X 9 wheels arent really supposed to have tires on them past 245

Dude, You can absolutely run a wider tire than a 245. In fact the 03-04 cobras run a stock 275 on a 17''x 9'' front and back. Also, control arms will help you put power to the ground assuming your tires are hooking. If your tires suck, control arms will simply allow your tires to spin wildly only without the hop. My point is control arms won't help you hook up if your tires aren't up to the task. My advice is run a 275 drag radial and take it from there. Remember wheel hop is not a problem if you are hooking up, only if you spin. No spin, no hop.

Get the proper size drag radial for your rim size.

But if you're putting the tires on spare rims.... why are you getting a drag radial??? Drag radials are slicks that you can run on the street, but if you're changing tires at the track, get slicks...

yea i run 275s in all 4 corners. but i can only run a 245 on the 8in rims i have to use... i want a whole drag only set of rims and tires. If i had a spare 9in rim i would for run the 275. Does that make sense
