Default okok, flywheel questions

Since my car's an automatic, do I still have a flywheel? If so, what is a recommended upgrade to replace my stock one? I'm interested because I want to drop the weight and hopefully increase my acceleration. Is there a noticable difference in the performance of stock and aftermarket flywheels. I'm just trying to learn as much as I can from you guys, so any information offered is greatly appreciated. thanks

yes you have a flywheel and its an 8-bolt get a alum flywhel this will decrease the amount of weight on your crank and allow it to turn faster which will cause it to rev a little quicker, so will a alum driveshaft

thanks boss. Any recommended brands? I don't hear much talk of flywheels in this forum so I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to this subject.

No you dont have a flywheel, but a FLEXPLATE.
Flywheels are only found in manual transmissions.

The difference is aFlywheel engages with the clutch, the flexplate doesnt ..only with the starter gear. So flexplates are already thin and light enough.

Get gears. That will increase excelleration more than anything except for forced induction.

If you really wanna drop weight go to a tubular k member, tubular A arms, and coil over kit. Relocate the battery to the trunk. 750.00 and you are in like...well like whoever.

Like Twokingsracer said.

You can drop much as 160 lbs. off the front end with K-member (tubular) tubular A arms, and coil over kit install. Relocating the battery is for distributing weight to the rear wheels.

Off subject a little I know but since weight was brought up thought I would drop my .02 in here.
