My 97 GT was able to surpass the 120 mark and that was a 5 speed. I don't know why you are having issues.

Your chip should have solved your problem. I've hit 130 mph no problem in my 98.

ok guys hes asking for help not how fast you've guys gone

im not famaliar with the chip you purchased but the speed limiter is in the computer somewhere, i know a guy with a tweecer thats still trying to get rid of his RPM limiter, and he knows what hes doing, it can be a pain but its obviouisly possible. see if theres any dyno tuners in your area that could help you out.

First off, are you saying you had this problem before you purchased the chip off ebay?

If you bought it second hand, I take it you matched the chip up with your EEC Code right?

Next question: Did you program your EEC with the Hypertech?

I think I am right on this, you can't program your Superchip with the Hypertech. The Hypertech is used to program the EEC first hand. If you haven't done so already, pull the chip, reset the EEC (unhooking the battery for 20 minutes or touching postive and negative cables (notice I said cables only) together. Then check the Top Speed (be careful when you do) You can always re-program. Like I said, I don't know your mods so your chip might be doing something, like gear cal, timing, so on... Also, you didn't elaborate if you programmed your EEC with the Hypertech while the chip was in or if you even tried to program your EEC with the Hypertech.

Hypertech Power Tuning™
- Optimized Ignition Timing and Air/Fuel Ratio for Stock Engines
- For Engines Equipped With Popular High-Performance Speed Equipment (Depending On Made/Model/Year)
- Vehicle Can Be Returned To Stock Tuning At Any Time

Installation (Depending on Made/Model/Year)
- Re-programming Takes Approximately 25 Minutes
- Back-to-Stock Re-tuning Takes Less Than 10 Minutes
