No it does not add horsepower. In fact it is just much harder turning the wheel when not in motion....Don't listen to him.

DO NOT DO THAT!!! Not only will it not increase your horsepower, it will make your car dangersous to drive. To anyone that would encourage him to do this, I dont think you would feel very good about yourself if he did this and was in an accident.

Getting rid of your p/s pump also takes away your power brakes... We got hydroboost my friend... That means the power brake system works off the powersteering pump... No pump means no steering and no brakes

did your friend also tell you to put stickers on your car to make it go faster. The imports have great ideas on making things faster.

I like to spray the garden hose at full blast into my intake box and rev it REALLY hard.

If I were you I would invest in some seatbelt pads and black lights to go under your car. On a 97 GT you should hit 13.8 in the 1/4.

So what would happen if you put in a belt that avoids the power steering pulley?
Would your other accessories just work faster?

Well...you would also lose your brakes....read the above mentioned post about hydroboost...elimnate the PS pump, eliminate brakes.

I did read them, no brakes sounds like fun.
What I'm wondering though is would your wheels get anymore power from avoiding the power steering pulley, or would the other accessories just spin faster?
