Default 1998 Mustang GT. Intermittent starting problem.

I have been reading the forum for the last couple of weeks; you have helped with an intake manifold problem as well as encourage me to perform my first tune up! Thanks!

I have searched and read many posts, but I have an issue with my 1998 Mustang GT Convertible that I have not been able to track down.

My car will intermittently not start. When I turn the key the car attempts to start, will idle roughly at ~200rpm for 10 seconds and then stall. If I wait 15-20 minutes, the car will fire up and run with no issues.

I am sure it is an overheating problem but the car only seems to stall from idle. As long as the car is running above idles I have no issues. I have an intermittent check engine light come on P0455 but does not coincide with the incidents. I am trying to track down the leak but have not crawled under the car as of yet.

I will try and provide as much information as possible, but I am just a newbie mechanic.

Default Further piece of the puzzle

Grabbed a chilton today, propped up the car and took a look for the leak (Based on CEL code). Found a rubber tube that runs from the filler cap area to the top of the gas tank that had a loose hose tightner. Their was spray staining the gas tank all around it. I am hoping this will solve the check engine light problem.

Is it possible that on very hot days that this would prevent my car from starting? Also the Chilton book mentioned vapor lock related to clogged fuel tank vent lines. Where are fuel tank vent lines? I know this stuff is hard to troubleshoot over the Internet, but I am hoping an experienced mechanic can throw some ideas out. Thanx.
