Question drip or leak in back of engine area-'01 GT

Hello all! I havent posted in a long time as my car has been driving great, but yesterday, on my way home from vacay, I stopped at a rest area to discover some smoke coming from the back of the engine area, near the firewall. It seemed to be localized just behind the throttle body a few feet down from the top of the engine area. I could hear what could best be described as the sound you hear when dripping water on a hot skillet. There was a drip about every 5-10 secs. I am unsure what this "sizzling" is and am wondering what could potentially be the problem. The antifreeze is fine. The gauges never moved(ie: no CEL came on ever)The car drives great still, but i am just concerned about this becoming a larger problem. Thanks for all your help, guys!

did you have the A/C on? Mine makes that sound when its hot out and i have the A/C on...its normally condensation from the air conditioning lines dripping onto the hot manifolds/exhaust system...NORMALLY that is the sizzling sound...i would check fluid levels of everything to make sure tho, (oil, anti freeze, brake/power steering fluid) just to be sure tho.

yeah, you know, I thought of that because the A/C was on, but was unsure if it should be leaking anywhere other than under the car onto the ground. Now that you mention it, I have heard that sound in the past after getting out of my car when it's hot out. I just never remember seeing smoke, although it was freaking hot yesterday. thanks for your help!
