But I learned, through this and a couple of other articles, some books, some track time with my own ram air (which was a miserable experience), and even HPTV..yes they did a segment on how ram air was nothing more than a flashy sales idea (had an interview with a Pontiac design engineer who actually showed why it didnt work, and never will). A kit like March and any other homemade kit is nothing more than an elongated cold air intake. It doesn't force any more air into the engine...its simply a duct to the cooler air outside the car. It stands to reason that the volume of air is greater at highway speeds...but that extra volume just wont make it into your engine. |
Dont mean to "jump in" but i think your wrong. I have a function shaker ram air system on my Mach 1 Mustang. I can tell you that its very functional. Even with the stock intake, there is a air compressior in between the MAF and the TB. (Only on stock Mach 1s) It does not compress a boat load of air, but it does work. I have the JLT ram air intake with the shaker hook-up and the Shaker air diverter inside the shaker hood scoop. It helps and you can feel the better Throttle response and air coming into the intake over 35mph. My filter even has become darker from air going down through the shaker into the ram air intake. So not trying to start any fights for my 2nd thread on this forum, but believe me, its bein discussed heavily on Mach1Registry.com. My main forum. My 2 cents..
