If we could get this made into a sticky it would be great, if for nothing else than my blood pressure...
When you start a new thread, please do a search first to see if there is something similar or EXACTLY THE SAME that may have been answered a few thousand times. This may be a surprise, but people have actually asked before about tire sizes, brands, x pipe vs h pipe, long tubes vs short... get the idea here? Odds are it has been answered and if you look through you can save everyone some time, learn something, and make this place much more fun and useful for all.
If, after looking, you find nothing that helps, start a new thread. Use good grammar and PUNCTUATE sentences. Most people will stop reading when they get a headache from a 500 word sentence that they have to puzzle out lousy spelling. In those decently composed sentences, try to be thorough in describing your problem/question. If you have changed parts recently, name them, if you did something and the problem started after, say what you did, if it makes a noise, try to describe it, don't be vague unless you want vague answers. Cars actually make more than one noise and when you say it makes a noise half of go "no **** sherlock" and the other half go "does squeak, cluck, whine, bang, is it rythmic? related to rpm or vehicle speed? It doesn't have to be a dissertation on your problem, but give the relevant info so people can help you. Nobody is going to complain about a few misspellings or a missed punctuation, but I for one simply stop reading and move on nowadays if it is all one sentence, I can't recognize it as English, or it is painful to read.
I apologize for this rant, and I'm sure many people with think me a jerk, so be it, but we are all here to help each other, and what I wrote above will make that much more easy, more fun, and save a few foreheads from meeting the desk in frustration. I hope everyone enjoys...

I'm definitely in agreement with you on this.....
I make it a point to call people out on there lack of grammar, spelling, etc. (and there are many "painful" posts on here for sure) & then make it a point of telling them to do a search. If it's someone that is brand new to the site & they don't understand how to search for topics, then that's understandable but the ones who have been here & are just too lazy to search for it..........

I got 2 words for you 05horse, and they aren't happy birthday!!! And good job picking up that misspelling, I wanted to see how long it would take, 6 min, not bad at all bro. BTW, what's the search for?

but that's just in regards to grammar. I won't repeat my gripes in this one! ;-)
One thing I've seen on other forums is that users get yelled at for digging up an "old" thread, and I don't see that on AFM. I'd much prefer someone append a relevant clarification question to an existing thread than start a new thread, but not all forums are like that.

I completely agree smokeshow, I'd rather see an old thread dug up with a lot of good info in there already that answer one more question about a which damn tuner is better... which I will not do again, probably ever. I tried to start this same one in talk, but either it got deleted or my dumbass put 2 in here. Ah well, nobody's perfect.

not sure what happened to my other response to this thread... i think i did not too long ago, but im not sure where i put it.
i DO apologize racin, part of what ur complaining about IS ME. to a 'T' <--- punctuation huh LMAO
im HORRIBLE about the run-ons and lack of proper commas and periods. i will try to use them more often. lol. hahaha this is so fun i dont generally spell things wrong, COMMA but i do tend to just blab on a strange tangent, COMMA and im sorry.
HOWEVER, i do try to break up the mess by spacing some lines down. like i just did for this line here
and i know PART of this complaint pertains DIRECTLY to me... some of what u pointed out is exactly what i do. keep in mind some of us are but humble gear heads and know how to chit chat better than say, write an essay. English was my WORST subject in school and i STILL don know big words...
i DID mention i was bent out of shape with AFM for not finding much or ANY info on stuff that i need to know or find out. the best thing i have found was tire sizing. I also regret to inform that before makin a post about tire sizing, i did NOT search for what i was lookin for... sorry
i DID however, search for 3.8 to 4.6 swap and only found 2 threads that were NOT helpful at all... they ALSO were a little old so i was hoping some NEW members would read MY specific post and know a thing or two... i included pieces i had, and stuff i knew how to do. i addressed what i needed help with specifically, and still got no answers
i do sincerely apologize racin for any inconvenience i have caused u at any given time and ill try not to do it no more

Its all good 1994GT50, and its not any one person, but a ton of it goes on and it gets frustrating, but don't take anything personally. I have read and replied to a number of your posts, and to be honest, I was referring to something else, but in the end, this is NOT MY forum, its everyone's, so we have to take each other as we are, I just figured what I posted may help steer the future down an easier path, what's done is done, we can only go forward, and like 05horse said, its not likely to stop, but I made my attempt to improve it. And 1994GT50, send me a PM with your specific questions that you didn't get answered and I'll do whatever I can to help out with them, I probably won't back in here till tomorrow, but I can likely help and will certainly try. Good evening to all.

I don't mind the more technical questions that really require a specialized answer.
The thing that really irritates me is the amount of "Cold Air Intake" questions I see. Every day I log-in and see at least 2 threads about "which cold air intake should I get?"

The same goes for the X-pipe vs. H-pipe battle.
dear afm i seen a few videos of how pypes sound on a 2005 4.0.... but how would they sound on my stock 2006 4.0?

putting this on the top of the sticky list and maybe even making the title size 72 font would both be good ideas.
on that note i think my head is going to explode if i see another thread asking about gears.
like you said i just ignore most threads these days asking about gears, exhaust, tires, cold air intakes, idle issues, throttle body sizing, and which brand should i go for.

Time to make the pony ride some rails
And I'm all about Capitalization at the beginning of sentences & I can't figure out why people do not Capitalize "I".........I deserve to Capitalized because I'm important, at least that's how I remember it being taught in school. hehe
