I have got a bad bearing in the rear end. I am trying to decide whether to buy Motive 4.10 or Yukon 4.10 rear set up. I will be buying a master bearing install kit also. Which brand of gear just mentioned should I go with...Best quality and less chance of whine.
Thnx for the input.
Also, I believe I have got a noisy power steering pump. The car is approaching 57000 miles... It only makes sound in acceleration from a stop or super low speeds. The loudest is when the car is under load. If I sit and rev its only audible at high revving rpms. I had the hood up and manually pulled the throttle and think that the sound is coming form the P/S pump. If this sounds correct..would changing it to a new aftermarket unit make a difference...the fluid is at its appropriate level and I beleive it looks to be clean. 5.0 Resto has a new unit for 159.99.

thnx..btw whats the reason to have a tech thread like so concerning mechanical problems and tell people to stop asking DUMB questions; people learn new things almost on a daily basis, while in public, at their jobs, and even just general chat with ur neighbor...and also i did look at the sticky and did do general searches...i found old sh** and hardly anything to help. if this is offensive, i appologize. i assume the moderators will say that they are not saying "stop asking dumb questions", but ill conter reply with, yes you guys are.

To answer your last question you posted....NO, we are not. That thread I linked was about using the search function before starting a new thread. This forum has been around along time. If you think you were the first one in the history of All Ford Mustangs to post the question "which brand gear should I go with, Motive or Yukon?", you are crazy.
The search function yeilded so many threads about gears, I couldn't possibly post them all in this response.
It isn't about learning something new or even asking dumb questions. It's about asking the SAME questions over and over and over. Do a quick search for gears, or CAI's or exhaust and then be prepared to spend the next month reading EVERY post that was made regarding them.
The "should I buy Motive or Yukon or FRPP brand" has been discussed SOOOOOO many times here, it is old and when someone comes along and asks the same old questions over and over without searching, it get's irritating. Just do us all a favor and use the search function before starting a new thread, that's all we're asking.

You have to watch which FRPP gears you get though, make sure the part number ends with an "A" and not an "M", the "M" gears are made by Motive, and have a notorious history in the Ford world.
They are ones I have in my car, and while they aren't loud, they do have a slight hint of whine over 65mph. Almost sounds like an amplifier whine, if you know that sound, just barely audible. I have had many sets of the "A" gears before, and never heard a peep out of them.
