Today I had my car in the shop for the brakes. They weren't working very well so I had it checked out. I ended up paying almost $700 to get my brake booster replaced. Not fun. Is this a resonable price? The booster it self was 400...

It seems high to me, but if the part was $400 its not too bad I guess, they must've charged you a big markup on the part. Shops charge you more than they pay for parts, and often a lot more than you could get them for, just part of how they make money, and another reason I do things myself.
