just a stupid question.... the dyno is about 3 hours away and i found a complete brand new v1 vortech sc kit for 2800 bucks.. In the features it includes a chip for your ecu... does this flash my ecu to be able to start off with and then dyno it or does it need dyno'ed as soon as installed????
The chip makes it safe to drive but datalogging engine parameters on a Dyno and wideband O2 is recommended so a Custom tune file can be created, it's the norm with a big ticket item like a supercharger!
so it will be safe to install everything and then drive to the dyno the next day to get a custom tune done?? And if its safe to drive till that time will i have to worry about hitting the gas at all i just dont want to lean out my car.. also is a vs1 vortech a good charger?? i know its not intercooled so will i need to worry about over temp problems?? thanks for the info.. i found a vs1 for 2800 bucks for the full kit (not tuner)
VS1 is the New series right? And yes you'll be fine running the vortech chip, and what you really need to address is the air fuel ratio that's why guys say DON'T get on the throttle til you can see where it's at!
Use some common sense, too. Load the car with premium, just for some extra insurance in case you run lean, and listen out for ping/detonation (turn OFF the engine if you hear it, and rethink your plan).
Verify WHICH pulley is coming with the deal. If the owner tossed the original and went with the tiniest blower pulley he could find, you might run into problems trying to create too much boost. ASK questions of the seller, including what pulleys are with it and has it been modified in any way...
For that matter, if YOUR car has been modified, now would be the time to tell us.

What are your intentions with the tune? I'd recommend getting a handheld (SCT,Predator). You can burn it right onto the ECU but to get the stock flash back you'd have to go to the dealership!
If you need Custom tune help PM me..
