Default Rim fitment on 2002 Mustang gt?

Hi all,

I've been looking everywhere and am being told different things by a lot of people. im looking to put steel winter rims on my mustang due to having no funds for a beater. i know 15' rims wont fit but will 16' rims fit? im just looking for the black stamped steel rims and they have them at walmart for 60 bucks a rim but have found used for cheaper. lots of people say they will fit(the 16's) but the ford dealership says nothing but 17's will fit. are they trying to scam me or what? right now i have the stock 17's on (245/45/17) and seems to have lots of clearance caliper wise, so i dont want to put on 17' tires if i dont absoulutly have to due to the price. thanks for the help.

im pretty sure they will. the v6s have 16 inch rims and i dont think the v6-gt brakes are any different.

Don't quote me here man, but if i'm not mistaken, i've seen some of the stamped steel in summit mags for like 25-30 bucks a piece.
