i have an 01 bullitt thats turbo and have a couple questions about it....it has a turbonetics deltagate 2 waste gate and it seems like it gets stuck open and makes a sound like it has a bad exhaust leak...and then it seems to get unstuck and be fine...its got a GT longblock in it... also after you tap the throttle it puffs a little smoke out of the exhaust and i smelled it and it doesnt smell like burned oil or anything just smells like really rich exhaust...i have the air fuel papers from the dyno session...and it does run a little rich in the lower RPM range...can someone help me and let me know why it would puff smoke and if they know anything about the deltagate 2 wastegate

i wouldnt worry about it being rich right when you hit the throttle. that's completely normal (and safe) especially with a forced induction setup.

not too sure about the wastegate though...

ok thanks...what about it puffing smoke?

if its rich that is the reason your puffing smoke... extra fuel in combustion will give you a black/grey puff when you tap the throttle. as far as the wastegate goes, do you have a boost gauge to see whether it truly does get stuck open?

i have a boost gauge and it still holds boost it just makes a wierd noise that comes from the wastegate area

if its still holding boost then your wastegate isnt stuck open. check for any vacuum lines in that area... but its possible you have an exhaust leak that only happens under certain conditions, and then it seals back up. for example a leak that would open when your motor torques a certain way. check all your connections to make sure they are tight, check the gasket under the wastegate. next time it happens see if you can pull over real quick and determine if its an air leak
