I was planning on starting a build, and wasnt sure what intake to choose. I have it down to the edelbrock victor jr., the typhoon, and the trick flow. Does anyone know the horsepower and torque gains with the edelbrock and tfs, I know the typhoon is around 20+ depending on the setup?
Some people have shown losses with the Typhoon, actually.
Gains will all depend on the modifications to the car. If it's not making over 300rwhp, chances are, you won't see an increase with any of them. The Edelbrock also is not a direct bolt-on, keep that in mind.
well here is what i'm working with. i have full bolt ons and i'm porting the pi heads and will port whatever intake i get. 24lb injectors and 90mm maf plus im getting the stage 2.5 pi cam from modularheadshop.
It says it makes power at 6,400rpm. But unless you have a high reving shortblock I wouldnt buy that. A lot of people (like 2oo5GT) lose power with it.
I dont know, Ive heard leave the stock intake manifold unless you spray or go boost. But f you have ported heads and cams. The motor needs to sping at higher rpms to benefit from cams and ported heads. So I dont see why not going with a Trickflow, or the badass looking Fox Lake P-51 Intake would hurt you if your winding the motor up. Correct me if Im wrong anyone

i have trick flow loss power as well i hope since i just did cams and all that good stuff ill c a jump next dyno buy if uwant trick flow just buy a bullit mannifold ther the same thing
Accually, Bullitts have a longer powerband due to their Intake Manifold. Same as on the Mach 1's. I was accually thinking of going to the junkyard and looking for one, or on eBay or craigslist.

If you can or have the time build one out the f-150s' intake plenum, I've seen this setup where it has twin 75mm trottles on each side, that setup made about 70 more power on an NA 4.6 engine. ofcourse the 2v 4.6 was ported and stage 3 heads with pistons. look it up in www.musclemustangfastfords.com who says the 400 hp is the limit for the 2v 4.6 should be 500 hp limit

Twin 75's on an N/A 4.6 is serious overkill. The P-51 intake requires a cowl hood if I remember right, I might be thinking about the Reichart racing intake though. Your best bet for a N/A motor would definitely be the Bullitt if you can find one for a decent price.

My friend with a 03 GT bought a Typhoon when he started spraying to avoid cracking the stock intake.....lost 8whp. car was dynoed before and after on the same rollers with similiar temps.
has anyone seen any #'s for the new BBK SSI intake for the 2V?
