My 1996 gt cranks for 5 to 10 seconds before it starts. It does the same thing whether it is cold or warm but seems to start a little quicker when its cold. By cold i'm meaning the outside temp. Once started the car runs perfectly. There is no check engine light on. When i turn on the ignition i can hear the buzz of the fuel pump and it sounds normal, doesn't sound like it is getting weak. This car is completely stock except for the exhaust. I have not done anything to try to fix this problem so any suggestions will be helpful.

How many miles on your car? If you have had the hood up looking aroung the engine bay, you could check vaccum lines small red plastic and then check the hoses to and from the air intake duct. Good luck

Have you had a tune up lately? Sounds like fouled spark plugs

The car has 83,000 miles on it. I not exactly sure when the last tune up was done but it have been in the last year. I have not checked for vacuum leaks but i will check today. Thanks for the replys.

I did not find any vacuum leaks. I tried pumping the gas pedal a few times before starting and it seems to crank a little faster. I'm still searching for the problem. Thanks in advance for any help.
