i want an exhuast for my 97 4.6 Mustang that is LOUD!!!!!
Im looking for some advice ... what exaust should i get ..i want loud.,.. im talking, i wanna set off peoples alarms just driving down the street... and almost breaking my back window... whats the top of the line exaust for my 1997 mustang GT (4.6 L) thanks kyle
You have alot of choices! The most popluar catback system is by far Flowmaster. Personally, I went with the MAC system. I know you alot of you guys have issues with MAC, but my buddy is a MAC dealer and stood behind his product with a money back gaurantee.
Anyway, I think the MAC has a little more harsh of a sound than the flows (Not that flows sound anywhere near weak). Plus, the MAC H-pipe really magnifies the original catback sound.
Just my opion.

I had flowmasters and they are ok. Went Bassani and couldnt be happier or louder! They are strait mufflers, and the baffles are removable for changing the exhuast note. Fit was perfect and they are stainless:
Bassani Cat Back and O/R X-Pipe -- made my almost stock 96 sound louder than my heavily modified 87 stang!
I don't know if I have writtn to this particular forum yet but i found that the perfect for a GT is Bassani O/R X pipe with Borla mufflers is a good choice. As i tole someone before, I had gone through 8 exhaust systems before I found thge right one. Hey TANG 96 how does the Bassani O/R X pipe sound with Bassani Cat back sound? Aslo does any one else have an O/R X pipe or a Bassani O/R X pipe? Cause I think that I have a leak somewhere in the pipe and I am not sure if it might be coming from the exhaust manifolds or what. I did have a couple of leaks and i patched those up they were coming from the mufflars. But whan I "open it up" it sounds like a leak, like i can hear it from the inside of the car but when i let mhy friends drive it sounds totally different on the outside of the car. I cant reall describe the sound that it makes. If anyone has any advice please feel free to write back and help me out? And I ahve already used ban clamps for the main bolts thinking there might be a leak there but there really wasn't. Thanks

Sounds sweet, milw96cobra!! Let's hear it doing a a big smokey burnout! Hey a friend of mine just bought a '98 Cobra and is ready to mod it. What has been oyur best mod? I know they say the C&L 80mm mass air works great, as well as the Bassani Hi-Flow X-pipe, but is there anything else that really gets those things movin?

Lets say I do I give 7 hours or more of research for every one hour of mods unless ive had a past experience with a brand and know what im going to get the next time around . By far the bassani cat-back and their o/r x pipe is the best I have "ever" heard. To date I have owned flow masters, macs, and bbk combinations. Also the people that have magnaback exhausts drool when i pull up. Its severely loud in an exotic Ferrari type way above 3000 rpms, and low and throaty/modest sounding below 2500 which is most regular driving with the wife in the car. She loves the sound and if it really bothers anyone the baffles install in the exhaust tips in under 5 minutes (mine serve as paper weights now). Its a bit pricey, but they are stainless, polished and have a lifetime warranty. My flows were rusty and crapping out after a few short years.
