 Speedometer problem???
I just recenetly bought a 98 GT , only to find out shortly therafter that the speedometer is not giving me an accurate reading. I found out that the pervious owner had changed the rearend gearing from 2:73 to a 3:73 gearing.This is causing my speedometer to be off by about 18 miles an hour;speedo reads 90 when I'm really going only 72 miles an hour.I brought the car to my local Ford dealer to see if they could fix it by either recalibrating the computer to correct the problem or by adding a gear in the transmisson to correct it. They told me that niether could be done to fix the problem.What can be done to solve this problem? |
