Default help with tach installation

Always have gotten pretty reliable info from this site so here goes :I want to install a aftermarket tach with shift light .......any suggestions and just what all is involved in the instalation?......Im use to the old type 1 wire to coil and 1 to ground ....lol....... Any info is appreciated ...but would like some info on the installation .....what is needed........how do do it ...where to run wires etc etc ,,,,, Thanks Everyone

It is very easy. The only thing that you will not be used to is the fact that your RPM source wire is located behind the passenger side kick panel. As seen on Autometer's site...
Tach output is obtained from PCM (powertrain control module) which is a 104 wire connector, and is located behind the passenger side kick panel. Look for pin number 48, which is usually an orange wire with a white stripe. (3.8L is = 3 PPR; 4.6L is = 4 PPR)
