Question Pro 50 handle on Steeda Triax Shifter?

Does anyone know if you can install a Pro 50 handle on a Steeda Triax shifter? I have a Steeda Triax in my '01 GT and my husband has a Pro 5.0 in his '02 GT. We like them both, but I would like to try the shorter handle on my Steeda. Has anyone tried this? I've seen people talk about the Steeda Triax handle on the Pro 50, but does it work the other way around?

The '02 is faster - although if we run the two, it comes down to the better driver - that's the hubby!

why not just use the lower setting on the tri-ax handle. I've actually heard the best combo is the pro-50 with the steeda handle. Not the other way around. But you can try it and report your findings back to us!

Thanks to you both for responding. I already have the Triax in the lowest shift position. We'll give the Triax w/Pro 50 handle a try and let you know what we find out.

No you got it backwards..

the best set up is

Pro 5.0 shifter, with triax handle..

The worst thing about the pro 5.0 is the handel, i hated it too small and was way to far away from the driver... the triax handel is perfect!

Well I am a tall dude and I love the Pro 5.0...with her Tri-Ax, in the lowest position, it's still a long throw because of the long handle. I have no problem grabbing gears with the short handled 5.0. Not much on the agenda tomorrow...maybe we'll change handles for a bit and see how it works out. We'll let you all know.

Well we were down at Bradenton this past weekend and with the many vendors there we picked up, among other small things, a Pro 5.0 handle. Now it has the shorter throw she prefers to the too-tall Tri-Ax. But is it me or are the T-5 and the Tremec totally different? I thought they were pretty much similiar, but I'd swear either the Tri-Ax is just not that good and the Pro-5.0 so much better or these trannies are more different that I was lead to believe. I have heard that the Tremec has built in shift stops, which I feel in my 02 on every shift - a solid, honest, metal to metal clink. Whereas her 01 with the T5 and the Tri-Ax seems to be so much more like the stock shifter - wide gate, longer throws, etc. I have absolutely nothing against Steeda, but I am just trying to understand, and possibly fix, what the issue is here. Mine feels race like, hers feels stock like. Is it the shifter, the trannie or possibly the install?

I've submitted a new thread with this issue - "Difference between T5 and Tremec 3650".
