Default Gears Gears and more Gears

I just purchased my first mustang 5 days ago a 2001 Gt the previous owner has done some work to the car but I bought it from a dealership, I think it has gears in it but I dont know how to be sure someone was telling me theres a way to jack up the rear end of the car and turn the drive shaft counting the number of rotations, I was wondering does anyone know a way other than going into the rear end to check, I know this my gears are very short compared to other mustangs Ive driven and at 65mph my rpm's are up around 2500-3000 in 5th gear. Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

use the gear calculators on the home page. They are on the top left it says "calculators" go there, there are a bunch of calculators. You should be able to find one that will help you out.

At 65 I think I'm at 2000 rpms in fifth gear with the 3.73's... Looks like you have a lower gear.

What car do you have? Your tranny may be geared different.

I still have stock gears (3.27) at 60mph in 5th rpm's are just below 2000. Now with new wheels at the same speed the rpm's are 2500 (the error is around 4% in the speed) Due to smaller overall diameter.
