I just did the swap this weeekend and i have no leaks yet. The sensor on the drivers side is for your fan and tells it when to turn on and off. It makes a huge difference you should really consider doing it!

Oh I see, on the 02 GT that sensor is right on the fan shroud. I would be pretty scared trying to drill and tap into that plastic though. Has anyone here done it??

Did you feel anything in the butt dyno from the swap? Did you have to change you under intake tube, the one that comes from the rear of the water pump snout?

Default Livernois PI Manifold Adaptor Plates

http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/product.phtml?p=457

Several of us have been told on the phone they will sell the adaptor plates separately tho' the price varied from expensive to really expensive; REMEMBER, for their complete kit, they also shorten the intake manifold by milliing the flange where the intake elbow would attach.

Do you know if the livernois intake comes with a hole for the fan sensor? Or would you STILL have to figure something out even after paying them $650?

No, it does appear to have the hole that the 96-98's need. Here is a pic of the intake and you can clearly see it has it.

here is the scope-- I did not have time to do it this weekend. however i did install a intake spacer and got like 50 hp. (rice Hp which is equivalent to 1hp american)

I understand the whole swap except for two things

i have to extend the wires and tap sensor into the the side of the motor because i have a 99 intake?

The new tube for the intake i dont dont understand how the new one goes in or where, but i guess i will figure it out when i do the swap.

You don't have to tap into the side of your motor. You tap the right side of your intake. The intake in the picture is the Livernios one, I have circled the hole that you need to create.

Picture of Intake

The metal tube goes under the intake, the end marked water pump slides onto a snout that is behind the water pump, friction fit with two small O rings. The rear of the tube comes out from under the intake in the back of the block where the clip will bolt into the block or head, can't recall, but you can reuse your current bolt. At the back of the block a rubber hose will connect to the metal tube and will going into your drivers side water connetion in the firewall. I believe you can also use your existing rubber heater hose.

no...you would have to tap into the thermostat housing or into the side of the block...

I just did this swap last week and have driven at least 300 miles on it so far...been to the track and made about 5 passes.....no leaks....

I did have to redo it because of a leak on the first attempt.....but added about 5 times as much silicone and no leaks.....

I am exhausted right now.....I will post more later...

Yikes Frig that, I would buy the kit before I ever drilled a hole in the side of my block or thermastat housing.

Default Tapping Manifold or..

One of the swap links I posted earlier in thread has the guy inserting a T-fitting into the existing sensor hole and running both sensors out of the tee.

Default for 1998GT

Do you have a front strut brace? (brand?) - interested to see if you have clearance problems w/that. Do you also have CAI (cold-air intake) and if so, what brand also?
