1996 Mustang GT horsepower

I have a 1996 Mustang GT and i dont believe it has 215 stock horsepower, i was wondering if anyone can help me figure out my current horsepower?
4.6L V8 SOHC underdrive pulley(they are blue) long tube header H-pipe exhaust 3 inch pipes with flowmasters that dumb before rear Axel, K&N Ram air intake, MSD ignition, shift kit.
those are the instalations in my car and she gets up and goes hard! the tires spin when it shifts and ive beaten my friends 1998 V6 which has alot more parts in it, so what is my horsepower? and how do i make it as powerful as i can?

Believe it. And you beat your friend's V6 Mustang because it's a V6 with even less power. For suggestions on acquiring more power, type the following terms into the search function on this site; "PI swap", "supercharger", and "nitrous". That should get you started.

+1, it really has 215 HP stock, at the crank. Your friends V6 stock is 150HP at the crank. Mod per mod, your GT will do better. so it's a given that if you both can drive, your car will have the upper hand in a race.

A big upgrade on the 96-98 GT motors are just a PI intake manifold, preferably one with port match spacers like the Livernois used to have. You can put a supercharger on there and make about 330rwhp if it's intercooled at 10psi. I ran one of these at 12psi intercooled and made 365rwhp and 385rwtq with the Livernois PI intake and stock NPI heads.

If you wana go power adder don't add the PI heads.

I suggest to go with a 99-04 PI intake off americanmuscle.com don't have to but it is a good gain, latemodelrestoration has the hose and nipple you will need, and you don't need the spacers to install a PI intake onto NPI heads look at this if it is what you wana do to your car...... http://www.americanmuscle.com/pi-intake-install.html then you can add your power adder

As far as one being better than the other I am not getting into that cause it will never end......the choice is yours on that but keep in mind what else you need to support everything when adding power like a supercharger or turbo so if you are new to all this and I am taking a guess that you are then use the search box and read up cause it can get expensive and pretty tricky if you do not know what you are doing.

Life is to short to live it pissed off cherish who and what you got while you can!

Any Suggestions? not possible to just add pi intake to npi heads

is it possible to just add pi intake to npi heads, on 96 gt, so i shouldnt waste my time swaping heads, costing time and money and labor

or is this a joke, im pretty sure you need pi heads for pi intake manifold

You can add just the pi intake to the NPI heads if you want, that's what I did to my first mustang (96 GT). It will give you a nice little gain and most of the time the NPI intakes are all plastic anyway so they crack and need replaced, which is what happened in my case. If you did add the PI heads though it would help even more, my understanding is 10 hp for the intake and the rest of the gain on the 99-04 mustangs are in the heads so about 35-40 hp. If you do add the PI heads to a NPI motor it will give you a pump in compression which would also help, I don't remember how much but I'm sure someone else will chime in.

^ Yes, you really actually can bolt a PI intake onto NPI heads. I'm not aware of the specifics, but it does require a small amount of RTV sealant around some of the ports but other than that it is an almost perfect direct swap.

Probably a few threads here with the details involved, or Google "mustang pi intake on npi engine".

I forgot you will also need to use the pi intake alternator bracket I believe, i do know they are different. I'm sure a local junk yard would have one.

Garage
Also the tube running from the water pump under the intake. The NPI tube gets in the way when a PI intake is used.

Beating a v6 with a v8 dont mean anything that how it should be. U can do a pi intake without the heads but its just a waist of time&money. Turbo & supercharger both have there pros and cons and both will cost a good chunk of cash. U should start with a complete pi swap. Then deside if u want NA, TURBO, SUPERCHARGER, NITROUS. all of these have good and bad. So deside what the car will be doing then deside what route u want to go
