itll make u lose only 1-2 mpg dont worry about the highway. also once you have it done after 500 miles change the fluid out since it will be new to make sure no metal shaving/flakes are there

You'll lose a bit of fuel milage with 4.10's, also the engine will wear slightly faster. It's not going to significantly accelerate wear, but instead of 200,000 miles, you'll get like 175,000 miles.

Default Want to buy CAI!!! Just really poor!

If anyone out there can keep me from buying one of these cheep CAI's from ebay please let me know. I can't afford a whole bunch at one time so I'll take a used one from a fellow mustang enthusiast.

Additional car parts interested in...
Throttlebody w/ plenum
chip or tuner
plugs/wires
any body mods including body kits, mirrors, and so on except exhaust...already have headers, magnaflow cats, basani x-pipe, and flowmasters

Thanks a bunch...if you have anything else I may be interested in or you think could help please let me know!

Thanks,
gmflash

To save money -- don't buy a CAI. Just go buy a K&N drop in replacement for the stock airbox. You'll get just as much HP. Take out the air silencer inside the fender too.

It's funny you said just put a K&N replacement drop in....I have one, but thought all it did was act as a regular air filter. Thanks for that!

Default K&n

I found K&N for my 05 GT & now my 07 GT/CS easy to stick in place & if you have to swap original back before taking in in for swervice so They don't note it, incase a warrenty issuse should arrise , but they would have to prove a filter caused what ever damage ! To save hassle I just swap.

yeah basically go with any one of them that relocates your intake to the outside of your engine compartment. otherwise, the "cold air" induction kit you installed will now be a warm air kit because it will suck air from the heated engine compartment. oh yeah also.. go with JLT because they make probably some of the best systems and they are not expensive

The guy who makes the JLT intakes is a really nice guy also. When I bought one for my 'vert about 18 months ago, the paint wasn't right. He painted another one on his own time and delivered it to the shop I bought it from himself. Super nice guy and his kits work really well.

The hardest part for me was getting the rubber connectors on the pipes. You're right about the PVC being inexpensive, but the results and competitors pricing still make it a good buy considering it makes the best power of all of them. Oh yeah and he paints them all and you can get flames on it...I'll have another JLT when I get the 83 up and going.
