I'm leaning towards a K&N FIPK here soon. It'll be my first mod on an otherwise completely stock car.
Hopefully I'll have it by next month!

I Put An A.e.m. Cold Air Intake On My 03 Gt And Felt An Increase In Power Immediately. Easy Bolt On In An Hour Or So And It Also Makes A Nice Groan At Wot.

I do not know about all the others but the steeda cai kit is really nice, fits well and the filter looks to be better than k&n

I used a C&L Cold Air Intake on my 2006 GT. Very happy.

dont waste your money. You can get one for 50-75 bucks on ebay WITH a K&N filter if you must have one.

Default Already have K&N filter / will it work in FIPK on an 04

I have an 04 GT and just replaced the stock filter with a K&N. Does anyone know if I can use this stock replacement with the FIPK system?
IF SO does K&N sell the FIPK w/o filter?

I don't think the drop in filter can be used with the FIPK.

JLT CAI is the only bolt on mod that actually made a difference on my car when I had the stock intake. Now that I have an SVO intake I will go with the JLT again. I believe they are honest with their claims for power, worked for me!

If you go with either JLT or K&N you'll be fine. They both will give you the same noticable results and will give you the max peformance out of a cold air kit on a fairly stock car. I personally bought the K&N CAI last week and installed it on my 03 gt that is stock except for 4:10's. Prior to installing my CAI i cut my airsilencer, cleaned and installed an old K&N off my 98gt. I drove that for while. Didnt really notice much of a difference. Just felt piece of mind. Now after installing my K&N CAI, there is definitely a difference. The car seems to pull a little harder when accelerating. It is not a huge difference like gears or anything, but it is noticable. And the filer is much larger than the standard K&N replacement.

I am glad that after all this time people are still listening to me and going with the K&N FIPK .. I swear for the 96-04 GT's that intake is the one that makes the most power.

We were asked by a distribution company to test all the brands including AFE, Air Raid, K&N etc. Based on actual dyno testing on all the kits, Volant came in number by a long shot.

Default CAI vs WAI

Personally I like the BBK CAI, it also bends slightly into the opening in the left fender wall, I like it because the filter is outside the engine compartment completly, no warm air at all! Some kits draw air from inside the engine bay, I call those WAI, this defeats the idea of a cold air intake system. I don't know how much difference it makes but I do know cooler is denser and denser is power and power is BBK! (or any system that draws from outside the engine bay)
