Default Clutch issue

My clutch is Squawkin a lot and chirpin....I have been told I need a "Fiew wall" kit (which I don't have).
The clutch works perfect Except for the annoying noise. If I hold it in a bit it goes away in gear or out of gear. I assume the Firewall kit "tightens" things up a bit more?
Is this what I need?

From what you are discribing as chirping, it sounds like the throw out bearing is going out. A firewall adjuster kit will not fix that problem. The TOB needs to be replaced and while you're in there you may as well upgrade the clutch.

I have a Ram clutch in ther now. (aftermarket). It's made the noise ever since It was installed (after the cable stretched a bit). We tightened up the clutch and it went away but came back as soon as it stretched again. I think this is due to not having the kit....
Sorry I wasn't too informative....

Screeching when you push the pedal in and out is different. Is that what you are saying? Chirping when the pedal is out is ussually the TOB.

Yeah, it's when it is out.......But if i barely push in on it it goes away. If my engine is out, is it costly to replace? TOB's are 40$ or so....

I guess I better check if my clutch kit came with a TOB. If not can I get a Heavy duty Steel one For my tranny (any TOB) or is this a special item?

OK...thanks Manna! I ordered a TOB....will be here Friday.......THanks again! I figured out what was going on with the shop guy....he knows the TOB is bad he just wasn't sure if I just wanted the noise stopped (ie use Firewall kit to supress it) or change the TOB.....Brothers said it would be wise to Change the ToB so I am...Thanks again for your help....

Pretty much any TOB is going to work. They are all the same. I believe there are only a few bearing companies in the world. Everyone pretty much buys em and repackages them as their own. If your engine is out then the TOB is right there to replace. Anything else?

I have the same problem with my 98 GT...I just got the clutch and BOT replaced and still making the same noise as everyone else. If you depress the clutch just abit, then the noise goes away.

If you know someone that works on Stangs in the Tallahassee area....hit me up at famu96_mrc@yahoo.com

Then you need to get a firewall kit too..........it tightens up the clutch cable (adjustable) so you can get the noise to go away. I have been told that some aftermarket clutches are noisey without the Kit.
I will let you know what mine does if it ever gets ot of the shop..........
