I used to own a 2001 Mustang GT 4.6 Romeo block, but the engine seized on me after 130,000 miles. I am looking into buying a 2003 Mustang GT with 60,000 miles. I just want your feedback on how long you think these engines will last with perfect maintenance and if you own this engine, how many miles you have on it and what was your biggest repair done to it?
my Cobra has over 200K miles on it, it runs perfect to this day...my Dad had a Crown Vic with over 200K miles on it, it never had a wrench turned on it besides new spark plugs...change the oil religiously, the engine will last forever
only had the infamous intake manifold crack, replaced that and currently dealing with a misfire on 4.... but just got some accel cops hoping that fixed it. aside from that; its a great running beast with only a CAI. love the car
2000 Mustang GT Convertible - BBK CAI, Trick Flow 70mm Throttlebody/Plenum and Stack Racing Spacer, Accel Super COP's, Full Length SubFrame Connectors, Flowmaster SuperFlow 44's, 91 Octane Bama Tune, more to come...
I've got a 00 gt vert with a host of go fast parts on it, bought it back in 06 with 30k miles on it and it now has 70k and about 100 track passes plus the occasional or frequent street abuse and it has never had an issue other than the norm ie clutch replacement and iac change.
