Cool AT to Manual Swap

I'm not even sure if I'm cons...well i guess I am considering it, but I consider a lot of things. On the last thread where mclfy stated "real men don't drive auto's" got me thinking. Would it be worth trying to swap my auto for a manual? I've been driving my friend's 03' cobra and my parents have a nissan 350z. 6spd and a 5pd, and the extra control definetly makes it more fun to drive. I just don't really think the price of changing things over would be worth it. I guess I should just get an older mustang with a manual, I don't know I just want something to whip and waste tires on. I wouldn't plan on doing that swap by myself either seeing as how my mechanical skills don't even go as far as putting an erector set together, just lookin for some input.

Index has article on T-5 swap - not cheap swap if not doing it yourself; I know, I priced it for myself.
could put shift kit in your car and find other reasons to like it; probably better to sell car and buy another if you reallllly decide you can live w/auto. I'm controlling shift points in Superchip and probably buying torque converter.

its not that hard to do, I did the swap on my 96 with all the parts from a 2000 GT and it took a weekend. No cutting required it all bolts right in. I am swapping back to an auto next week and will have all my stuff up for sale if your interested. There used to be a kit available somewhere for around 1500 I think. Mine will be much cheaper than that and come with all aftermarket parts, steeda, pro 5.0, spec 11" cobra clutch and a rebuilt tranny with less than 200 miles on it

Best time to date is 14.20 spinning trough first and 2nd, thanks to Kumho's, times are prior to suspension work and tranny swap

New times coming when the ET streets get here

Mine will be available after this weekend for around 900 shipped to anywhere, it is a complete kit and is running on my car right now. My tranny stuck in reverse and I dont feel like taking it out and having it fixed so I am going back to an auto. Keep in mind that it has only been driven 125 miles since a total rebuild. I am sure its something stupid and very cheap but I want my auto back. Also the shift kit is not near as much fun as the actual manual I tried both

How did you get the speedo hooked up, they are different right between a 96-98 and 99+.

A speedcal won't work for a 99+ auto to manual swap. You need to get a chip or swap computers. (I recommend the chip solution)
