im looking into gears and want to know if i should go with 3.73 or 4.10 gears, ive heard of people going with both. I have a 97 GT 5-spd, and im not sure which to go with, any help out there?
What do you use the car for? Cruiser, daily driver, drags? If you race a 1/4 mile get the 3:73s or you will be into 5th gear if your car is making some decent power. If you take it on the highway a lot the the 4:10s will make your mileage suffer more. If you just plan on staying intown and going stop light to stop light the 4:10 are the best bet. I really like my 3:73s, I dropped 2 tenths in the 1/8 mile when I switched from the stock 3:27 to 3:73. you will hear many different opionions about this try doing a search on it to find out more.

thanks for the imput guys, im leaning towards the 3.73s, but my friend told me about his dad who used to have 3.90s and he loved them too, ill let you know how it turns out, thanks again
Soon as i get my w2's and file them and get my money back ill be putting inmy 3.73s. I was told i will enjoy them. I was gonna go 4.10 but since my car COULD become a daily driver i didnt want that on the highway. One day when i know for sure its gonna always sit like it does now i am gonna go 4.30's

I have 3.73's... Sometimes I still wish I had the stock gears. I don't need that much gear anymore. I've been debating installing 3.55's or my stock gears back in for a while... But the 3.73's are a great gear for an N/A 5 speed.
Are we back to tanking on 4.10's now? My car is a semi-daily driver and gets pretty good gas milage in town. Gas milage with gears is a moot point. Its all in how you drive the car. 4.10's are great fun to drive and make a nice difference. 3.90 to 4.10 you wont even be able to tell...milage or performance wise. 3.73 to 4.10...its been proven to be a difference in 1/4 times in favor of 4.10's in many cases...and gas milage there is no difference, again because of driving habits.
Its whatever you want. 4.10's and drag radials woke my car up. I did start getting some wheel hop and then changed my upper and lower control arms. Fixed. I say 4.10's...but that is just me.
