Default Bullitt intake swap question.

If i swap my stock intake manifold for a bullit intake manifold, will i need to change heads? or will the exhisting heads be compatible. I know it would be wise to upgrade to 99PI heads or SVO heads but would the intake swap alone work?

How much of a gain would i get if this is possible.

I think the Bullit is only meant for 99 up heads.

*Update*
heres what was said in the article mentioned earlier.

"The Bullitt intake design is a far cry from what most people in the Ford modular world are used to. While it had been in the Ford Racing catalog for a while, there wasn't a version that fit the '99-up Performance Improved cylinder heads. Ford fitted this intake to the 2001 Bullitt Mustang that was in part responsible for the engine's output being raised to 265 horsepower."

There wasn't a version for the 99+? So that means there is a Bullit intake for 96-98 2v's?

Per the article the Bullit intake was installed on a 35th anniv. GT thats a 99. all the 99+ 2v's use the same PI heads. They only resurrected the Bullit intake for the 2001 Bullit Model. This intake will fit the 99. As for the 96 - 98, I think you need to check with a FRPP dealer. Or do the PI head swap and install the Bullit intake. You will see greater gains in HP and torque than the 99+ GT's.

You can make it work but it's not a direct bolt-on. A buddy of mine did it and it took some port work and work with the gaskets (can't remember exactly what) to work properly. I wouldn't expect to pick up all that much power with one because the heads are the major restrictor on your car and a bullitt intake is actually more expensive than a set of PI heads now.
